A positive approach to mental health. Lothlorien is a therapeutic community for people with mental health problems, situated in a quiet rural setting in South West Scotland. Lothlorien was originally started in 1974 by the Haughton family, who built the 13 bedroomed log house, one of the largest in its kind in Britain, from locally hewn larch and pine trees. Lothlorien is one of the top private jumper barns in Canada. The farm is comprised of over 500 acres, a large amount of which is farmed and planted with various crops, the remainder being dedicated to the horses. It has several paddocks and run-in sheds, riding trails, a walker, treadmill, hydrotherapy machine, water treadmill, track, two indoor arenas, a sand ring and a grass grand prix ring with several natural obstacles.
